Georgetown College’s ties to Casey County trace all the way back to 1898, with the founding of Middleburg Academy. Like the college, Middleburg Academy was founded by the Kentucky Baptists with the purpose of preparing students for life’s pursuits in a Christian setting. The academy sent students to Georgetown College for study throughout its existence. Middleburg Academy would later close, and the Legacy and Legends Scholarship serves to extend and build upon its legacy and connection to Georgetown College.
